The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will conduct a design public meeting on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Munford High School, 1080 McLaughlin Drive, Munford, TN 38058 to discuss I-69 (SIU-8, Section 2) from north of Simmons Road to north of SR-178 in Tipton County as shown on the general location map.
The meeting will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. during which time there will be a presentation and question and answer session. The public is invited to ask questions and make comments during the meeting. Representatives from TDOT will be present to answer questions on any aspect of the project. The preliminary plans will be displayed and the public is invited to review the displays anytime within the scheduled two hours.
This project proposes to construct approximately 5.5 miles of I-69 on new alignment. The proposed road will consist of two 12’ travel lanes in each direction divided by a depressed grass median. An interchange will be constructed at SR-178 that will include four entrance/exit ramps and a bridge over I-69 along with the widening of SR-178, to five lanes, through the interchange. A bridge will also be constructed allowing Campground Road to cross over I-69. Appleberry Road will be realigned and several other local roads will be modifed or realigned. The proposed right-of-way will vary throughout the project but an access control fence will be installed along I-69 and at the SR-178 Interchange.
